Who founded SOLARO, and why?
Phousany Khounphakdy founded SOLARO on one belief: the true value of a business is making people's lives better. So we exist for one thing — to change Lao lives. And we hold ourselves to one promise: as long as Lao people still live in darkness, we will not stop creating light.

Why does SOLARO state lumens, not watts?
Because overstated specifications are what we stand against. We do not want Lao families to pay for an advertised number and end up with a light that is dim or breaks early. The three things we oppose are overstated specs, low-quality products, and poor families being left without access to light.
